Norwayne Historic District
The Norwayne Historic District is located within the City of Westland. Jefferson Barn Community
The Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center provides resources and recreational opportunities for the Norwayne Community. Resources include a Reading Room Library, a Learning Center that provides tutoring for students (for more information including contact information see their flyer PDF), Westland Youth Assistance Program, Government Food Distribution and special events. Recreational activities include the Norwayne Boxing Gym, Open Gym times and an Outdoor Recreation area. Wayne-Westland Community School District services the Historic Norwayne Community with a full service education program from preschool to career-technical training. Kindergarten through 4th grade is serviced by Hamilton and Elliott Elementary Schools; 5th and 6th grade is housed in Adams Upper Elementary; 7th and 8th grade attend Franklin Middle School and 9th through 12th grades attend Wayne Memorial High School.
